Some Questions That Needs To Be Answered On The Killing Of Super TV CEO By Unilag Student

The killing of the CEO of Super TV CEO by a communication student of the University of Lagos after their love affair went wrong is currently trending online.

The news of the death of the super successful businessman was announced in major newspapers and online blogs about a week ago.

The killing which is somehow similar to Iniobong Umoren calls for questioning and that is what this article seeks to do.

Who is Usifo Ataga?

Michael Usifo Ataga was born into the family of Mr. & Mrs. Ataga. His mother’s name is Sylvia Ataga.

Micheal Usifo Ataga in his lifetime was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Super Tv. He also seats as a director of Super Network Limited, a telecoms firm.

The deceased was a successful Nigerian businessman who came into this world on June 19, 1971. He died at 50 years.
Usifo is a native of Edo State and obtained his degree from the University of Benin in 1995 who until his death resided in Banana Island part of Lagos.

It would interest you to know that the deceased is married to a beautiful woman called Brenda who is the National Project Coordinator of the LPG Gas Expansion Programme, in the office of the Honorable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva. Their marriage was blessed with children.

Ataga, who resides in Banana Island, was reported missing on Sunday, June 13, by his family and friends after he didn’t return to his home in Banana Island and he also didn’t turn up at his Victoria Island office.

Chidinma’s Confession

“I have been in a romantic relationship with Ataga for about four months before the ugly incident. We were having fun when an argument broke out and I stabbed him twice.

We were in the lodge smoking. He was trying to make advances on me. I was tired and he became violent on it. I let him have his way. Towards afternoon, he ordered roofies. We took it together and ate food. He became high. I was still not happy with the first one (s*x) that we had, so, I was staying on my own, smoking and drinking. He, too, was on his own.

He came to me and I was like I am not happy with what he did. I was like, ‘You don’t help me, you don’t assist me with anything, you are just playing with me around. He was like, ‘Take my ATM and withdraw what you want’.

He later became violent trying to get to me and I was resisting and defending myself. At some point, he hit my head on the wall and I also retaliated.

At some point, he was chasing me around the kitchen cabinet. I took a knife and stabbed his neck. I approached the door and he followed me. I stabbed him twice on the neck side. I threw the knife to the bed and he was going for it but I also went for it. He dragged the knife with me and it broke and he fell on the floor,” Chidinma revealed.

Why Did She Withdraw His Money

There is a little bit of confusion that I have noticed which begs the question of why did the alleged killer withdraw money using the deceased ATM card?

A closer look at Chidinma’s confession suggests that it was a case of self-defence while the deceased was trying to force himself on him.

Now the question to ask is if a man was trying to rape her as she had alleged, why did she withdraw his money after killing him?

It was clear that the two parties were clearly in a relationship, the type of relationship that cannot be established for now.

A close opinion on why she withdrew the money will be that she was probably with him for the material benefits without factoring in the sacrifices she has to make on her own part.

How Did Knives Get Into The Room

In the confession video of Chidinma, the alleged killer of the Super Tv CEO, she explained that it was Usifo who charged at her at first with a knife.

After which she fought back by grabbing another knife and stabbed him multiple times before Usifo fell to his death.

Could it be that the knives that were used in the altercation were part of the tools used in making their food?

Will Chidinma Go To Jail?

Perhaps since the circulation of her confessional video and parade by the Lagos State Police Command, the question on the lips of many is if she stands a chance of getting bail or even freedom from the allegations laid on her.
